The next read-a-long over at Unputdownables is ready to begin! We are reading Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell over the next three months, and it’s not too late to join us!

I am always excited to start a nearly 700 page saga (really!), I quite enjoyed Gaskell’s Cranford, and I quite, quite, quite enjoyed her essay included at the end of my edition which talks about eating tea leaves with sugar and butter! What I hope to find in Wives and Daughters is more of the same — these sort of quaint details and a view into a world long gone.

You know how expectations go — let’s see what I actually find 😉
