Gothic Fiction in October

o from Délaissé is running a Gothic Fiction in October event for The Classics Club.

YES PLEASE!

I was already planning to read Shelley’s Frankenstein and Du Maurier’s Rebecca in October. I figure, why not throw in Radcliffe’s The Mysteries of Udolpho (I’m so poorly read in 18th century literature) and call it a spooktacular reading month?!? I am also going to try and squeeze in Tartt’s The Secret History. I recently got it from PaperBack Swap and want to reread it. I read it when it first came out and was too much of an Angry English Major to enjoy it. Now that the years have tempered me, I want to see what I think.

So, I’m in for both options, o! With an extra side of 20th century!
